Benefits

Creates Schedules in Minutes- Using a Genetic Algorithm, LabScheduler creates work assignments based on a variety of criteria, providing the best possible outcome in minutes, rather than hours or days.

Maintains Proficiency- All employees have their skill proficiencies maintained by allowing the Autolink feature to automatically rotate them within the areas for which they posses skills.

Customizable Criteria- Define your own workstation and employee shifts, skills, and statuses (such as available, on-call, or vacation for employees; and vacant, down for repair, or down for maintenance for workstations.) Optionally define employee or workstation groups. LabScheduler lets you add, edit and remove these criteria at any time.

Centralized Data Management- All employee and workstation information is stored electronically in a single location, making data retrieval and updates easy and efficient.

Cumulative Electronic Record- The LabScheduler allows supervisors to review their laboratory staffing issues in the past and project future needs. This is especially important in creating holiday schedules based on previous days worked.

Skills- Can be "weighted" for each employee per skill. Different weight values can be used to manipulate how often an employee utilizes each of his or her skills at individual workstations.

Group Options and Named Views- Can be tailored for each facility and supervisor. Employees and workstations may belong to multiple groups or views. Departments and or shifts often designate these. They can also be determined by physical locations.

Colorful Clear Displays- Color-coded graphs make schedule events simple to interpret at a glance. List views are also available.

PC-Friendly- LabScheduler runs on PC's with a Microsoft Windows Operating System platform of Windows 95 or higher. Contact LabScheduler for technical specifications for your individual facility.

Extensive Customer Support- Each system includes a pre-installation consultation, instructor-led training, User Manuals, standard and optional Technical Support, and electronic Help.

Responsive Scheduling- Change scheduling criteria or specific schedule events at any time. LabScheduler's AutoLink tool can automatically reassign personnel accordingly.

Filters- Allow supervisors to utilize the Autolink program and maintain any manually changed events.

Quick Replacements- AutoLink searches for suitable substitutes to cover shifts for technologists who are ill or need time off… and provides alternative assignments in a matter of seconds.

Flexibility- LabScheduler allows supervisors to run and rerun a schedule for any length of time. This is often used to examine possible resource shortages in the future, especially when vacation is placed in the program in advance.

Single Site Location Feature- Enables employees to be scheduled to one physical site per day, unless otherwise specified.

Minimum Link Time- Allows supervisors to specify the shortest amount of allowed time an employee can be linked to a workstation.

Minimum/Maximum Linked Days- Enables the supervisor to determine the number of consecutive working days that an employee should be linked to an individual workstation or a group of workstations requiring the same skill set.

Comments- Can be attached to each employee or workstations for any length of time.

Time Outside of the Laboratory- Vacations, conferences, workshops, etc… can be placed in LabScheduler any where from one day to several years in advance, noting when employees will not be in the laboratory. You may also note when the time off was requested in the comments field.

Notes- Or messages can be placed in any day of the schedule for an individual department or for "all", noting unusual circumstances, highlighting events, and or holidays for the facility.

Interval Data- Built-in counting feature warns supervisors of resource shortages, overages, and absences on a daily, weekly, two week, and monthly basis. This provides useful data for lab budgets and employment records. Interval data is available in a printed report format.

Resource Data- Built-in counting feature allows supervisors to view hours scheduled, worked, absent, and linked to a workstation over a variety of time lengths per employee or group. Resource data for workstations and personnel are available in a printed report format

Schedule Formats- Print Schedules by Employee or Workstation; by individual, group, or all resources; in daily, weekly, two week, or monthly formats. Optionally select from several types of page setup and paper size.
